Staged Under Auspices of
Phila. Motorcycle Club
Motorc.vcllsts of this city and vicinity
will compete in one of the largest nnd
toughest hill -climbing contests ever
stnged In this section of the country
New Year'! afteinoon.
The event is being run .under the
Motorcj do nnd Allied Trades Associa
tion snnctlnn nnd Is being stnged under
the auspices of the Motorcj cle (1ub of
Philadelphia. A long list of entries of
riders using many different makes and
horsepower of machines have sent in
their entr.v blanks and from present in
dicntious the "climb" will be tin big
gest nffnlr in ninny jenrs for the fol
lowers of the "two-wheelers.
The grade upon which the contest
will he held is locntisl on the west side
of the Schuylkill. Those who wish to
run out to the hill will be assembled
nt the club headquarters, llrond vtreet
and Susiiuehauiin avenue, at noon,
guides will lead a body of riders to the
hills. Starting fiom the club at 11 :!!(
squads will be taken to the hill every
half hour.
Among the well-known local riders of
widespread fame, who will compete in
the ovcirt. uic; Hill Arthurs, who will
pilot his big Indian machine up the
