A moving-picture show has been ar

of the Pennsylvania Institution for the
Deaf and Dumb, at Mount Airy. An

SURPLUS MATERIAL FOR $ALE
ON THE PACIFIC COAST
Sealed bids on surplus materials on the Pacific Coast
will bo received in the office of the Chairman, United States
Shipping Board, Washington, D. C, on or before 11.00 a. m.
January 14, 1921, at which time bids will bo opened.
Bids will be on a percentage of appraisal of materials
on the West Coast and for tho purpose of bidding such ap
praisal value shall be assumed at $6,000,000.00.
Contract shall be for a period of twelve (12) months
from execution of contract and will include all materials to
be certified to the Supply and Sales Division, during tho
peroid of the contract from cancellation or from tho Con
struction Department and will not include surplus turned
over to this Division from the Division of Operation.
Bidder must take into consideration tho sum of
$68,425.00, which represents the cost of leases for the
period of this contract, same will be paid to the Emergency
Fleet Corporation, who holds lease on said property, as
follows:

Purchaser on execution of tho contract shall deliver 15 per
cent udditionnl of tho nmount of hia bid and pay tho balanco
or 75 per cent in twelvo (12) equal monthly installments. A check
will bo kept of the movement of the material by the Emergency
Fleet Corporation. Tho successful bidder will pay each month
the percentage of appraisal of bids on tho cntiro cost for the
materials which ho has moved and hold during that month. The
twelvo equal monthly installments merely being guarantee of what
tho bidder must perform.
TERMS Ten per cent of tho amount of tho bid must nccompany
the bid in the form of a certified check. In the case of acceptance of
the bid and the bidder defaulting on tile contract thin amount shall
be forfeited to the Emergency Fleet Corporation. Deferred payments
will carry no interest.
Inventories of these yards may bo seen In our Tacoma, Portland
or San Francisco Offices.
The Board reserves the right to reject any or nil bids.
