When we neglect that "first call" for dinner en the dining car,
we're always surprised when the waiter announces cheerfully that
"the steak am all gene." Se it la with our Christmas shopping. It
is well te remember that the early bird is most likely te catch the
worm.
IT IS small wonder that the
turkey stands as the symbol for
Thanksgiving joy, for interest
en that day centers about the din
ner of which he is the pidee dc -nietance.
New, in order that the
dinner may be just right, the house
wife should consider first her cook
ing utensils. It is se much less
trouble te prepare a turkey for the
table if one owns a self-basting
aluminum roaster, such as you will
find at the store of J. Franklin
Miller, 1G12 Chestnut Street. Cran
berries leek se much mere tempting
when chilled in these individual
melds, and one can hake and serve
the pumpkin pie te best advantage
in one of these Pyrex glass pie
plates. And a word about carving
sets. These at Miller's are of the
very best English steel.
THROUGH the Chestnut Street
Association and these columns,
the store of Oppenheim Cellins
S Company, at Chestnut and
Twelfth Streets, extends a cordial
invitation te visitors from out-of-town
points. Se, when you happen
te be in Philadelphia for your
Christmas shopping, de net fail te
visit this store. You'll be surprised
te find hew reasonable in price are
their gowns and wraps and coats.
Yeu kn.OjW it is no easy thing te find
an evening gown that is becoming,
that has geed lines, that is authen
tic in inspiration, at a reasonable
price, but that is just what you
will find at the store of Oppenheim,
Cellins & Company. Their blouse
department is worth a special visit.
Yeu will find such a visit of inspec
tion enjoyable.
