Nancy Wynne Goes to the Judson Tea She Sees Several
Smart FrocJcs in Her Various Trips About Town.
She Talks of the Voting Yesterday
THAT wns a beautiful tea ftt Uic Jud
toni yesterday afternoon when
Charlotte Starr made her debut. Char
lotte looked perfectly sweet In the dear
cat frock of roso pink taffeta, trimmed
with little, rosebuds. Now you know
that was n darling dress. Bhe's very
dark and the frock gaTo bcr Just tho
rlBht coloring In that lighted roota. She
carried Sweetheart roses and was so
l vivacious and charming I was Very glad
I had gone out. Mrs. Starr wore a gown
of dark blue satln which was moat be-
coming, nnd Mrs. Judson's dress was
of periwinkle blue cuarmcunc.
There were quantities of flowers In
bouquets sent to the debutante, nnd
then, too, Mrs. Judson bad bad tho
rooms decorated with jellow chrysan
themums nnd golden brown dahlias,
which made a brilliant and colorful
background for the others.
HELEN "SB3VELIi Is being enter
tained quitt a lot. She's nn nwfullj
nice girl, I think. I saw her In town
the other day looking very well in n
mart sports suit of English tweed which
was semi-fitted, showing her graceful
figure to advantage. She wore a good
looking snorts hat made of the same ma
terial as tho suit, nclcn Is extremely
attractive, to wholesome looking, too.
! She reminds me of spring. She is quite
an athlete, you know, and a crack ten-
I nis ploycr. Her ejes arc very bluo nnd
her hair Is gold. She has tho most
beautiful manners, nnd is Just as nico
, as can be to every ono; Bho couldn t
be otherwise. Iler , J0" "l8tcrj 5ct?:
trice Is perfectly locly, too. All tho
Sewcll gfrls have been w well brought
up. Their parents arc perfectly charm
lng people
I SAW Kathcrlno Ogdcn at the
Bellcvue the other day in n smart
Irock of dark brown duvctyne made
quUe pain with white collars and cuffs.
It had a narrow belt of the material and
her hat as a rather large turban of
henna duvetyne, which was very sporty
looking. Katherlnc Is so dark, tUe
henna was most becoming.
WE COMBINED voting nnd social
duties jesterday didn't we? That
la most of us voted In the morning nnd
went tealng In tho afternoon.
And honestly I felt borry for some
of tho officers where there were women
watchers. Why on earth, because we,
have the vote, women have to make
themselves cntty and disagreeable is
more than I can understand. One poor
man who had voted for jcars, of course,
came in with his wife at the time I was
thero, and he asked nn innocent question
about the uonpartiban judges, that is,
where they were to be marked on the
ballot? And another innocent boul who
was looking up tho names told him
where it was. Hood night ! Ono woman
watcher nearly snapped the head off tho
poor man who nsked the question and
said, "The officers of the election are
not allowed to answer questions. We
nre," Indicating another woman nnd
herself. And said poor officer sat quiet,
but I do think he must have said some
thing with a large "D" in it, under his
breath.
Men have not gone into the polls all
these yea is and raised Cain because a
newspaper was on the floor or the win
dows were not hung with silk curtains.
And the sooner women realize that men
have equal rights the better. After
hearing all this yesterday, I did not
blame soma of tho men for not wanting
woman suffrage.
DID you know that Lorraine Orahara
Bacon is coming on next month to
spend the Christinas holidays with her
parents, Dr. and Mrs. Edwin Eldcn
Graham? You know she was married
some tlmo last February to Edward
Bacon, and they arc living in Milwau
kee, Wis. Won't It be nice to see her
again?
I think Lorrnlno is so pretty. She
has such beautiful eyes and such a
i graceful manner. I used to love to see
ber In amateur plays. She has decided
talent nnd is so good to look at.

Try Standing in Your

with your toes turned far out. See how
tho weight is thrown on the inside of
the foot, bow the foot is flattened to the
floor.
Then stand with your toci pointed
straight nhcad. The arch curves up. The
weight is shared by the heel, the ball,
and tho outulde of the foot.
That Is Just one contrast between or
dinary tihocs and Cantilever shoes. Or
dinary shoes, which twist the foot to
point the toes out, cause fallen arches
because they throw nil tho weight on
tho inside of tho arch Its weakest
point.
The Cantilever Shoe Is patterned from
the outline of the foot. The nntural Inner
sole line allows the toes to point straight
ahead, as they normally should. Tho
weight Is distributed so that no strain
comes on the arch. They encourage cor
rect posture and easy carriage.
Cantilever Shoes permit tho muscles
to cxcrciso witn pcriect freedom. The
shank is flexible. It does not restrict the
movement of the muscles, but gives with
the foot. In a Cantilever Shoe tho
muscles surrounding the bones of the
arch grow strong from use. Cantilevers
correct nnd pro vent fallen arches by ex
ercising the foot.

There's never any "third" when a nice
warm teapot, a clean, shiny cup, and a pack
age of Tetley's Orange Pekoe Tea get to
gether! They're the welcomest three you
can find on a cold day. It's a funny thing,
but' a nice hot cup of cheering delicious tea
gives you a new outlook on life.
TETLEY'S TEA
Makes Good
You understand that it's the
blending that makes Tetley's
such good tea, don't you? But
it'ud be a poor story if we
couldn't blend it right we've
been doing it for over 100 years.
