dence. Prices, however, have held firm,
although there is a lesser degree of ac
tivity than previously. It Is pointed out
that tbare are many underlying railroad
issues which may be pnrchascd at the
moment at prices showing a handsome
yield to tho investor and, in point ot
importance ns to Intrinsic merits, are
on a parity with tho standard Issues
which liave been moro popular from a

If the bond market is permitted to
properly digest the securities now out
standing, it is felt that within a reason
able time there will be a recurrence of
tho past activity nnd strength which hat
been displayed throughout the entire
list. Industrial bonds have tended
toward easier quotations. This, it is
thought, has been brought about in some
measure bv the bis offerings of Indus
trial bonds at highly attractive interest
rates.
