The Irregularity of the early trading
was evidenced by the conflicting course
of leading issues. Some of the rails
and oils wero lower by fractions to n
point, while other stockn of the name
class rose moderately over last week's
final quotations. Steels, coppers, mo
tors and specialties were particularly
sluggish.
Steel common was ' higher on the
initial Kales at 87 and after advancing
further, dropped to 87ai. The other
stfol stocks were slightly lower, Ueth

smalt fractions, Baldwin Locomotive
