It is unusual in many respects and is conceded by textile men to be a distinctly forward step in this type of textile factory construction The Boger & Crawford plant is so designed and constructed that every operation necessary in the production of fine yarn is conducted under one roof and in successive order thus saving time, labor and power. The plant is a combination of a one and a three story building with an adequate power plant. In the one-story section is located the garage, the store house, receiving platform, bleaching, dyeing and mercerizing departments; the chemical storage and mixing vats and the water tanks. Our engineers found that a one-story building was the most efficient for the installation of a proper ventilation system, vitally necessary in this work, to keep the air clean make working conditions safe and healthful and main tain the product free from impurities. The three-story building holds the splitting, winding, packing, shipping and office departments. The raw material travels a direct and logical route from the receiving platform until it becomes the finished yarn ready to be sent out of the shipping room. Steele engineers and industrial experts perfected a number of improve ments in the process of production which will net Boger & Crawford a substan tial saving every year. ' , We designed and installed the power plant, lighting, sprinkling and venti lating systems, routed the raw materials, placed the machinery and made a com plete industrial layout. Although this plant, being the only one of its kind in this section, entailed many unique problems, we solved them all to the satisfaction of our clients. Our 56 years in business is filled with instances of this kind. We specialize in solving industrial construction problems. If you are a textile manufacturer, or a manufacturer of any other prod uct, let us solve your building problems. " An interview does not obligate you in any way. M.
