QUITE a number ot women are la
town, whether, to put names on the
rueMors' lists or not, is hard to say.
I'm sure Marie Stewart is not here for
that purpose, unless she is putting her
mother's name on for her, because
Maxle Is certainly not twenty-one by
ieveral years length. Anyway ahe
wis In town a few days and 'I happened
to see her. She was wearing" a. soft
coffee colored sports suit, which waa
rsitly becoming to her and her simple
bit was nho In brown. The coat was
,ry long walsted and she looked e
treraelr smart.
Another person I spied was Betty
Brock. She was in a tweed sports suit
which ws very good looking, and her
bit was ot the same tweed, muchly
stitched.
HAVE you heard about the big doings
the women way 'out on the Main
Une are getting up? They are going
to hare a supper and tUnce on the turn
pike out at Whitford, the evening of
September 18. And for a very fine
rtsion, to raise funds to maintain a
community nurse for Whitford and the
ountry round about there.
Tou know Whitford is beyond Paoll,
ind there were many times last year
ind the year before when the people
a that vicinity were In dire need of a
iurse, And so it was determined to
tare one for this year, who would live
here and do community nursing In that
section 01 me uaesier vouey on ine
Main Line. They have obtained Miss
Katharine Rohrer, who for a number
at jesrs was head nurse at the Preston
Retreat. And it is the hope of those
who have engineered this step that many
til the. families ouc-tnere- will be aided
Sr dallv or weekly visits when illness
tomes along. -Miss Rohrer. will also
rtilt the schools of that district and
follow up cases'needlng attention.
I hear the women In charge of the
party on the eignieentn nave arranged
to hold the dance, rain or shine, ns it
will be riven at Whitford Lodee. and
supper can be served under cover there
while me large aivmg-rooms used by the
rlrlj who spend their vacations at' the
oitt can be easily used for dancing.
