wnn tlie apparent mcrcllcnH crucifying of
noon and Npecuiativc cliques In a mini

especially the recent exploited oil com

In that there wuh no telling Juit when

Altogether, market acted Just an it

there was ronilriprabjo confusion nud
mixed price movements. The Indus

held their ground pretty well, and ap

force for tlm express purpose of facili

the Industrial group.
I As a matter of fact the conduct nnd

newly created oil stocks suggested these
gentlemen evidently had failed to grusp
the real Intent of the wnrning and this
morning viituully found the ground cut
from under them.
In most all the oil stocks there werv
many reasons for supposing practical
steps had been taken by banking in
terests to enforced loan contraction. At
least this wus suggested iu the 10

The ability of the traders to depress
the Industrials aucd considerable re
vision of sentiment as to the immediate
course- of the market. A number took
the attitude that no material progress
on the constructive side could be ex

I Irregular small variations character
ized the day's operations in tin- Will
stocks. There was a pronounced siui-

1 lo indicate a growing disposition on the
part of tlie local trndiig contingent to
sit tight pending further developments
in the general market situation. Nat

but tho continued piincipal handicap
