NEW YORK COFFEE MARKET
New Yerk, July l2.-i-Th market for
coffee futures opened at a. decline of
35 to 58 points, ring leaders apparently
paying- little or no attention to the ad
vanee of 350 rets in Illo, or th cold
and unsettled wtather reported in the
state of Sac- Paulo, the deollne of 275
to 4TB rels In the Santos market seem
Injly, being- the Important feature causing-the
decline.
The world's visible supply of coffee
as ef July 1. was 6,909.070 bags, a
decrease of 362,278 bags for the month
of June. If the corrected stocks at
Santos and Rio are taken Into con
sideration, the euppiy July i, would
&S. SA78,i"!. bar8' decrease of
698.171 bags.
The selling; was attributed to stop losi
orders from interests which are not yet
willing to take a decided stand and
which wero trying to feel out the mar
ket. At the end of the first hour prices
were a little, up fiom tho low point of
the call, with trading rather quiet.
Little business is reported from day
to day In thp cost and freight contracts,
firm offers being too Irregular to nttrnct
buyers. Drfttll appears anxious to sell,
now that tho new crop movement is'
well under way. and stocks both at Itlo
and Santos Increasing dally.
In tho local spot market some low
sales have been made, such as Ulo 7s
and 8s at 13 H cents. Victoria 7s at 13
cents. Ordinary Victorias sold at 12
cents, ex-ship on vessel Just cleared.

ARMOUR AND COMPANY
7 Ten-Year Convertible Gold Notes
Due July 15, 1930
Price 94.84 and Interest, Yielding 7
Total assets of Armour and Company are reported to be in excess
of $490,000,000.
Net current assets alone are reported as approximately
$230,000,000.
Total grosft sales in 1 9 1 9 were over $ 1 ,000,000,000.
Net earnings available for payment of interest in the last four
fiscal years (not including average annual earnings of $6,003,500
from South American properties retained for their development) have
averaged, after Federal Taxes, over $26,000,000 almost 3'2 times
the average amount necessary to pay interest charges in that period.

or telephone at our expense.
A circular completely descriptive of the Notes
will be Bent upon request for P. A. 19
