Don't Blame the Roots
of Your Hair
if you are becoming bald, have

HAIRITONIG
contains nature's own energizing force, a soothingly
active force that goes straight to the roots and
revitalizes them. Its radio-active properties, to be
found in no other hair tonic, act in a massage-like
manner. The roots respond immediately, the
causes for hair troubles are eradicated
and a healthy growth is assured.
RADIOR HAIR TONIC for years has
been featured in the best London
shops. Its continued use by thousands
of English men and women attests its
popularity there. Used in conjunction
with Radior Shampoo Powder it forms
an unexcelled hair treatment.

This Price-Proving GROCERY SALE at Gimbels
Is Far More Important than Those Great Sales of War-Released Foods We
Conducted at Our Personal Expense, Selling Without Any Marked Profit
Those sales were each made up of one to half dozen items. This price-proving sale offers
scores of items. Both were based on helpfulness both that series and this sale enabling house
wives to save largely.
Any business that has prospered through public support owes a great debt to the public is
faced by a responsibility that cannot be evaded.
Far and wide has, gone up the cry that foods are costing too much that production costs are
talked of chiefly as a smoke-blind to hide inordinate profits.
Is the clamor based on facts?
We shall see.
Our prices in this sale arc inordinately low no business could endure that was conducted on
this present basis. "Why do it, then?'' you ask.
First: To do with our might our part in lessening (iving costs.
Second: To see what reaction of prices will follow. If the market is sound; if recent prices
have been justified, then the market will hold and sellers far and near will be purged from the ac
cusation of profiteering. Where wrong exists, practices will change. We shall see.

are interested observers in this campaign.
None of them would for a moment have prices slashed to wide-spread ruin. The women of
Philadelphia have built up the better-living spirit of thi3 region, and have worked for the hygienic
handling of milk and other foods. These things arc fine and cost something. And costs can go
only one place: on goods sold.
These women know that and say human life and good health are well-worth the price.
But they and we shall see what is real and what is sham. The grocery sale continues
