sion. Interest still centred to n largo

' specialties or recognized pool issues.
Sentiment among the traders and on

ilent. nnd while no revivat of bullish en-

nevertheless, n general belief that In

condition of the market a higher level of
price- would be established. '
It was pointed out that while much
of the recovery made in the last two ,
days was accomplished nl the expense fK

dication of the existence ot still large
bear account, l-fxcept in n few of the
known closely held pool stocks appar
ently no effort was made to force a
covering movement, yet judging from
the character of the operation during
the morning the shorts were taking ad
vantage of every little opening to re
duce outstanding commitments.
In so far as rates for call loans were
concerned the money market was'easler.
Demand funds were again evidently In
abundance around 7 per cent, which was
made the renewal rate. Thi- wus largely
the result of two influences. First a
pronounced slackening in the demand.
Secondly, the 0 per cent rate exacted
earlier in the week attracted consider
able funds from the interior. Judging
from past experience, this out-of-town
money Is very likely to be automatically
withdrawn should the call rate fall
under 7 per cent. In other words the
easier money conditions was cr-nernllv
