The Philadelphia Operntic Society
Ifftye a fine performance of Suppc's
comic opera "Hoccarcio." at the
Metropolitan Opera House last overtime,
before a large and enthiiNiastio audi
ence. The east as a whole was well
made up with due regard to the voral
find humorous talents of its members.
, Emily Stokes linear undoubtedly
teadled the cast by the firmness
f her singing and her longer ex
perience before the public. She sang
finely throughout, especially in the
fcolornttira song in the second net, and
kcted the part ns convincingly as a
woman can ever make a male role. Miss
Palcho and M'sh Iteiter revenled good
Voices and acted with self-possession
and confidence. Mention should also
be made among the female parts of the
fxcellent work of Eva Hitter and of
Jeanette Kerr.
In the male parts Charles J. Shuttle
Torth was an exceedingly funny Lotter
Inghl, and bis delineation of the cooper
when he had looked too long upon ihc
wine casks would have done credit to
any comedian upon the stage. He was
ably supported in this role by Herman
U. Bud and Itelnhold II. Schmidt, who
nlio were exceedingly funny without
prerdoing. All were more than adequate
Vocally. Of the more serious male parts
Br. John II. Becker and Horace K.
Hood had the most important roles, and
loth were satisfactory in them.
The chorus was good, as it always is,
'despite the fact that it has compara
tively little to do in this opera, and the
staging and cqstumes were up to the
usual high standards of the Operatic
Society.

Presenting
The Finest Ready to Wear
Clothes in the World for Men
In announcing our complete readiness to serve every man's clothing wants and wishes
for Spring, 1920, we say without hesitation, and with all the force at our command, that
HIRSH, WIGKWIRE CLOTHES
are positively The Finest Ready to Wear Clothes in the World for Men
This is not an idle advertising statement, but a fact which
has been proved by an actual analysis of I-Iirsh, Wickwire
Clothes, with those offered by other reputable good clothes
makers. This analysis, a copy of which we are ready to show you,
positively proves that on eleven essential points of good,
tailoring, Hirsh, Wickwire Clothes stand supreme.
There is more hand-tailoring and a higher grade of out
side and inside fabrics used in the construction of Hirsh,
Wickwire Clothes than in any other ready-to-wear clothing
in the world.
The styles run the complete range, from ultra-fashionable
to sturdy conservative.
The fabrics are of the purest virgin wool offered by the
most reputable weavers in either the foreign or domestic
markets.
There are exclusive patterns and colors to please every
taste, and, on the point of value - giving, we are confident
that no one can match our quality at our prices.
It is high time that the men of this community should
have c othing facts instead of fancy rhetoric as a basis for
their clothes buying.
We have such facts, and if you have not as yet received
your copy of the style book, pictured above, we suggest that ,
