around the steel and equipment shares,
which for the tlmo being, at least, linve'

absolutely a professional affair from
start to finish as public interest still
continued at an extremely low ebb.
. A few leaders were .slightly lower it

late rally was materially extended.
Apart from -the superficial improvement
in the money market there was nothing

ablc in the steel and equipment groups.
Baldwin Locomotive aud Crucible Steel
were the accepted leaders of these re

gains among representative industrials,
especially the equipments nnd motor
specialties were iucreased. General
Motors was the only oue of the recent
leaders to hold back.

Interest localwlse centered Tery
largely in the proposed new flnauclng

is understood that' tho officials in charg'd
of the new financing hs.ro virtually com

the statement of- local banking Inter

with tli.j management, the new. financing
will be made in the form of teu-year
