George H. Burr & Co.,
421 Chestnut St.
Philadelphia
New York, March 3t. Bull pools and
tprculntire combinations were iu abso
lute control of today's tstoeV market.
These operations were extended iu al
most every direction, except anion the
railroad shares, which were relatively
hcayr, Little or no attention was paid
to the continued irregularity of the
foreign exchange market or the R per
cent renewal rate for call loans. There
wan little actual news to influence the
' trading much in cither direction. The
majority of the professional trading con
tingent were outwardly bearish and In
clined to play hard for a reaction. The
severe drubbling. however, received by
the short intercut in Stuti Motor, Cru
cible Steel nnd other recognized pool
shares, made the bear crowd more
cautious. This made the market rather
thin both wayi and while It went down
quite easily at times it recovered just
easily. As a- matter of fact the day'
operations differed little from those of
the immediate preceding session, except
that interest was concentrated more in
the pool issues.
The early trading was enlivened by
another skyshootlnc rie in Sttitz Motor
at the new high of .101. Other issues
dominated by, pool interests also were
substantially higher. General Motors
land Crucible Steel advancing 1 and 7"j
I points respectively. Selected issues in
the motor, oil. steel, equipment and
.uiiuk divisions were iuim'u up inui
vidually at different iutervals nnd giveu
substantial advances extending from 1
to 4 points, which were subject to
occasional setbacks on realizing ales.,
Tbef-e demonstrations were supplement
ed by a vigorous rise in the utility
shares, which embraced 'Wells Vargo
and United States Express and which
was accompanied by rumors of pros
pective stock dividends.
Trading became quiet at midday, but
the market yielded little of the morning
ndvancwe. In fact, the popular steels,
equipments and shipping shares were
considerably over the best quotations
of the forenoon. Vanadian Steel. Chi
cago Pneumatic Tool. Baldwin Locomo
tive and Atlantic Gulf and West Indies
were the chief features at extreme gaius
of .'' to G points.

CIRCULAR ON REQUEST
Biddle & Henry
104 SOUTH FIFTH STREET
The Railroad Legislation recently passed should result in con
tinuously larger earnings, for many railroads, than they have
had in the past.
Some of their bonds are selling far below their intrinsic worth,
and ira few years should show substantial appreciation.
Do you know which these bonds are?
The four and one-half years which our force of from
four to eight .engineers has spent exclusively on com
piling most detailed information, on the leading rail
roads and their thousandH of Bonds, should cnublo uu
to answer this question.
The information we have collected nnd our opinion is
at tho disposal of thoso who desire it.
