MAYOR SIGNS CONTRACTS
First Item Against $3,000,000 In
$12,460,000 Loan Approved
The .Mpyor this morning signed the
first Important contract to bo charged
against tho $3,000,000 Hem in the $12,
400,000 loan floated last December for
the improvement of the city's water
supply. , Tho contract, which wan for
$375,000, went to Kdward Fay & Sons
for head works and aqueduct, for the
purpose of modifying tho Queen lano
Alter beds for tho llurcau of Water.
The Mayor also signed a contract
with the estate of David McMahon to
furnish paving materials to tho High
way Unreal! to the extent of $-10,800.
A contract was made with William
Bryant for $11,000 to furnish coal to
Moyamcnsing prison. Another con
tract was with tho Dunlap Printing
Co. to supply $5500 worth of blank
books to tho board for tho revision o
taxes. A contract was given to Albert
Anderman to furnish $300 worth of
stationery to the board for the revi
sion of taxes nnd $3S00 worth of blank
books to the recorder of deeds.
