THE
Big Storm Record
of U. S. TRUCKS
in Newton Service
On February 5th, the day after the big snow,
when traffic in general was severely crippled, note
the amount of work Newton's U. S. Trucks accom
plished, according to a few of the record sheets
picked at random :
Truck 6
Worked lOVl; hours
Truveled 32 miles
Delivered 22 tons coal
" " Truck 26
Worked 10 hours
Traveled 25 miles
Delivered 25 tons coal
Truck 25
Worked 11 ia hours
Traveled 37 miles
Delivered 18 tons coal
t
Truck 12
Worked 10 hours
Traveled 19 miles
Delivered 24 tons coal
Truck 5
Worked 10 hours
Traveled 29 miles
Delivered 18 tons coal
Truck 2
Worked 11 Vu hours
Traveled 32 miles
Delivered ' 22 tons coal
Not one of this entire fleet has been laid up for
repairs so far this year, despite the many days of
hard going. ,
And Newton's carefully kept records of truck
operation show remarkably low .delivery costs
and unusually small service and upkeep expense
on a year-round basis as well as through this
stormy period.
Ask the Geo. B. Newton Coal Co. their opinion
of U. S. Trucks.

United States Motor Trucks
The recent storms, which produced the most baffling traffic conditions in years and tied up delivery service
in many lines of industiy, had no effect on Newton's magnificent fleet of UNITED STATES MOTOR TRUCKS in
its delivery' of coal. Through snow and ice these big, powerful trucks loaded tc capacity have worked without,
interruption every day, carrying coal promptly to relieve distress in the time of greatest need. Not one of these
motor trucks was stuck; not one had to be "towed in"; not one had gear troubles, burnt bearings, broken axles or
any other irregularity which might have prevented them from performing their usual prompt, dependable,
service.
No other trucks in Philadelphia's coal trade performed so consistently or were so free from troubles during
this emergency.
The Floating Power Plant, to be had only in UNITED STATES MOTOR TRUCKS, is entirely responsible for
this remarkable record.
The Geo. B. Newton Coal Co. are experts in their line. They are the largest coal company in Philadelphia
and employ the most up-to-date business methods. They have made a thorough study of coal-hauling problems,
and after making severest tests of different makes of motor trucks are in a position to know which ones will
stand up under the exacting conditions they impose and will meet their severest requirements.
The fact that the Newton Company has bought fifty-four UNITED STATES MOTOR TRUCKS within the
last three years speaks for itself.
. This step has been an important factor in the development of the splendid Newton service that has gained
this company 125,000 coal customers.
The lead that such an organization as the Geo. B. Newton Coal Co. has taken in employing UNITED STATES
MOTOR TRUCKS to do its hard work can safely be followed by other Philadelphia industrial concerns where the
most trying delivery conditions must successfully be met.
UNITED STATES MOTOR TRUCKS can solve your delivery problems just as we solved Newton's. Write
or wire us now!
