Cliiraxo, Feb. 10. Disappointing re
ceipts, material pains in the cash ar
ticle, fears nf labor trouble on the rail
roads and the holding attitude of farm
ers were the factors that caused sharp
upturns in corn utures today.
The rally was the first of any conse
quence that the market' experienced
since the bit; swing downward started,
about ten tluys ago. Short were dis
turbed and covered, and there also was
reinstatement of long lines. Offerings
generally were not large.
Many conservative traders expressed
the opinion that the recent drop had
well discounted bearish conditions.
Oats were also strong on general buy
ing, und shorts were compelled to cover.
Among thf influences were a better tone
to the cash article and intimations of
I a resumption of inquiry for exports,
Talk about trouble on the railroads
I caused fears of a curtailment move
I nient. As in the corn, the market
l showed evidence of having been badly

Word was received that un eastern

bushels of oats and 2,000.000. bushels
of rye had been worked for shipment
