1920 Hopes and Prospects
As we stand on the threshold of, this, another New Year, looking down
into the future we can see it filled with wonderful possibilities, overflowing with
opportunities and blessings for all mankind. Full of difficulties as some ot
present-day conditions are, let us keep in mind, "every cloud has its silver lining,
and face the issues that lie before us with that calm steadiness of purpose and
courage begotten of a living faith in tho right.
Whether as individuals, business men, masters of finance, religious leaders,
or statesmen whatever our calling, may we be guided to use our mind, our
voice, our pen, with all the power that in us lies ; exercising the factor of self
control, to tlje end that the Ship of State may reach a safe haven speedily, in
order that tho turmoil in the body Bociologic may give place once more to that
peace and calm so characteristic in the past of our American manhood and insti
tutions. American Stores Co.
