No Bonuses for du Pont Employes
Stories that the du Pont company
had canceled plans for u Christmas
bonus to employes because the women
were buying expensive furs in ndvnnce
in anticipation of the gratuity were de
nied by the company this morning. It
was stated the du Pouts never con
templated n bonus this year and that
rumors that a proposed bonus hnd been
canceled were without foundation. I

A hundred buyers and executives of
the Strnwbrdge Si Clothier store yes
terday gave a pleasant surprlso to Gen
eral Manager Herbert J. TUy, taking
into their own hands the celebration
of the forcieth anniversary of his en
tering the employ of tho firm, The
"conspiracy" was carried out while
Mr. Tily, who is ono of the city's well
known musicians, was conducting the
store's Christmas concert on the second
floor. In his absence his office had
been transformed into a. bower of palms
and roses, and beside his chntr was the
old stool on which bo had sat waiting
the call of "cash" forty years ago for
that was long before tho day of pneu
matic cash enrricrs.
When Mr. Tily entered his office ho
was astonished nt tho scene and almost
overcome when the crowd surged in
from nn nntcroom and Bhowercd con
gratulations upon him. Isaac II,
Clothier, now past eighty, sat beside
Mr. Tily's desk, joining the members
of the firm nnd the executives In their
happy felicitations. Mr. Tily briefly
but feelingly referred to his long service
and happy associations in the old store,
reviewing the marvelous improvements
in business methods and systems dur
ing the last forty years.

LORD DALMENY GETS
DECREE OF DIVORCE

ing Dosertion After Finan-
cial Disputes
Edinburgh, Dec. 10. Albert Edward
Primrose, Lord Dalmeny, only surviving
n of Lord Bosebery, lias obtained a
divorce from Dorothy Alice Margaret
Augusta Primrose, Ladv' Dalmeny,
daughter of the late Lord George
Henry Grosvenor. The divorce wns ob
tained on the ground of desertion.
The divorce was granted In the Scot
tish courts. Tho trouble which caused
tho separation 1$ said to have been
largely of a financial nature.
Lady Dalmeny was prominent In
English, society1 before her marriage.
Her . grandfather, the first Dukt' pf
Westminster, possessed n great fortune.
On June 20, 1017, Lord Dalmeny
published an advertisement in the Lon
don Times that he would not bq re
sponsible for his wife's debts. Two
weeks later his wife published n state
ment that Lord D.ilmeny hod never
given her n personal allowance of over
$5000 n year nor more than SflOOO a
year for household expenses. She de
clared she had to use un inheritance
of $10,000 b. year for household ex
p6nscs,
Lord and Lady Dalmeny have been
separated since thnt time. She has
been' residing with her children nt Little
Orange, in Oxfordshire.
