JUST GOSSIP ABOUT PEOPLE
x Nancy Wynne Tells of the
Night She Attends the
Park Debutante Doings
rpnK Huppcr Club will open on Kntur--
rlny nisht, nml I licnr o unite a
number of people who will ontcrtnln.
The music will stmt nt H o'clock for
dinner, nml continue on through the
evening for supper, so tlips who wish
to go in nfter the theatre will lime
dancing nml cnt late, ns before, and
those who want to go early and come,
home early win be able to hac dlnucr
at S.
A mighty nlee arrangement, me
thinks, though if Jr is as much fun as
.lefore the, war many will go for both
dinner and supper, say I.
Mrs. Hutchison Scott Is in charge,
s before, and Mr. .John 0. flrnoinc,
Mr. Kdward Cassatt, Sir. Sydney
Hutchinson, Mr. howls Parsons and,
hi a number of other men arc on the
committee,
TJ1IFI WIpBNKU made her debut
yesterday afternoon at a ten which
icr narcnts. Mr. nnd Mrs. .Toseoh 12.
II iVIdencr. cav at Lrnnewood Hall, the
M'idener ertate In Elkins Park. The
f tea differed from other debutante pur
nhiles in that onlv Mrs. Widcner 'and
Kill received. No debutantes were in
the receiving party, those who attended
going in street costumes.
Flfi looks a little llke her mother.
though she Is not so small, but she is
dark, too, and has large laughing eyes.
The house was certainly gorgeous with
flowers, and Hfl looked sweet iu white
satin nnd tulle, and her bouquet of
pink roses was lovely. Of course, the
picture galleries were thrown open, nnd
"The Mill" had almost as much atten
tion as the debutante. It is a wonder
ful painting, that's sure!
THERE aro two debutante parties to
day. Mrs. Gray Bolton gave a
luncheon for Elizabeth Garrison nt her
home, 2109 Pine street, and this eve
ning Mrs. Howard Lewis gives a dance
nt the Acorn Club for Emllie Noble,
her niece.
Emllie Noble made her debut at a
tea given by her grandmother, Mrs.
Harry Potter, on November 124 at the
Acorn, you remember. The guests to
night will be of the debutnnto set, nnd
I expect it will bo a very pretty af
fair. The dahceroom at the Acorn is
so wel shaped for a dance, nnd the
hangings of old rose throw a beautiful
light on the dancers, don't you think?
T AM rather looking forward to the
joint musical recital which is to
be given on Monday by Madam Snmn

DID you stop in at the oriental ba
7aar yesterday, at 1015 Chestnut
street? I never saw such u beautiful
fair. The two sides of the wall are
lined with counters which have yellow
canopies ; and really glancing down from
the coffee loggia at the back of the store
toward the front door it looks just like
an ensteru street.
Brownie AA'ai burton was a peach in
her oriental garb. Miss Dickie had the
cutest walking doll you over saw and
one that talked, and if Mrs. Chandler
did not help to beautify any customers
she certainly was not to blame, for
everj thing in the way of cosmetics nnd
rare perfumes was there. I really do
not think I have ever seen an idea so
well carried out. They even had an
pastern beffzar L'oinir about calling
"Alms for the love of Allah!" which
sounded to me us if .the Turks, were
ftDOUt lO Item 111 v jii'isuau vnurjw.iu-,
after all. AA'ould that it were so! But
those who have returned from there
recently say anything but that. To
go back to the bazaar, it is u wonder.,
nnd I saw lots of lovely Christmas
things there. 'JAXPllAHNN'n-
