Coinldcriiig the surrounding unset

in the lecent nt'tirn high-price special

while .some of flic local stocks scored
gains.
One of the strongest periods occurred

of men from this city, took part in some
of tho fiercest fightlne In the Lorraine
section In France, nnd on November 11,
1018, they were fighting in tho Ar
gonne Forrest. Trained at Camp Meade,

j NEW YORK, COFFEE MARKET
New York, Nov. (!. The coffee mar
1 ket opened steady, but somewhat irreg
t tilar. call prices being C points lower
on September with other months II to
j 12 points higher.
The mark"' showed uli easier ten
dency after tin- sll. There was helling
'.of September, which was believed ngain
purchased In the cost nnd freight
market bj New Orleans importers. This,
combined with the irregular ruling ot
mllreis prices in Brazil, suggested that
the ndvanee had gono far enough to
bring out increased offerings from pri
mary shippers nnd there were again
rumors that Bio was accepting bids nt
concessions compnred with asking
prices.
In one mse it was said that the bids
accepted weie just about on a parity
with contract quotations. Naturally,
this increased the tendency to take
profits on long lines and prices miou
broke some 10 to 20 points from the
early high levels.
