I HEARD a very Interesting uung
other day. It appears that Mrs.
Francis Burrall Hoffman, of New Jork.
whose son Albert was the husband of
Leta SulHvan. who died a counle o
months ago, knew the queen of Belgium
Beusi'she was In deep tnournins for
Leta. she did not attend any of the
receptions given for the queen, and, fo,
JFyou Please, the queen was K.raaous
enough to go to the Hoffmans' home
for a little while and Sirs. Hoffman
asked Mrs. Sullivan, Frances and
Elaine to go on and meet the queen that
afternoon, which they did.
The queen wns perfectly sweet and
so sympathetic nbout the sorrow that
had come to the family in young M
Hoffman's early death. She wrote her
name on the flyleaf of tho prayer book
which Leta had carried at her wedding
instead of a bouquet, so Mrs. Sullivan
has that to keep.
MRS. ALBERT LEEDS nnd Miss
Dora Lewis will sail for Franco on
the Touraine very shortly. Tbey are
colng over to work among tho refugees.
Mrs; Leeds is the sister of Bishop
Webb, of Milwaukee, I think it is.
Her two dauehters. Ruth and Eliza
beth, nro married, Ruth is the wife
of Everett Brown, nnd Elizabeth mar
ried Henry Reed, tho bon of the Iato
Judge Reed, nnd n nephew of Mr.
Frank Bond nnd Mrs. Wnrren Inger

Xork now. NANCY WYNNE.
