Mrs. Chose wai Sue Hruee, you know,
a daughter of the late Mr. Arthur Uruec,
of Oerinantown, and n nlere of Mri. Al

THE committee pf the Supper Club
(you know the club which Mrs.
Hutchison Scott has at the lMlevue and
which js to be resumed this year) had
a meeting the other day and it was
planned to start the, club earlier in the
evenitllf Mini lint'i. It n rltmifi- ilimrn nnil
V have the clos, nc l.our earlier.
This will not eliminate the supper
dance, if persons prefer to go later and
have supper instead of dinner, but it
simply means that if you are not going
to the theatre nnd want to dance, but
do not want to start in at eleven, you
can go nt seven -thirty or perhaps ear
lier, the ciact hours have not been laid
down, und go home by eleven.
Tim club will btait on November 'i'i
this year, you know, t am so glad It
has been taken up again. It was al
ways such fun !
SEVKNTY-KIVK meu went on the

vent the rounds of the customary walk,
ending up with a swim in the pool at
the Y. M. 0. A. nnd supper at the
Young Friends' Association at Fifcenth

vaudeville entertainment which followed
the Supper was very good and the party
broke up at ten.

THE Mathers' party for Catherine
Mather on Saturday night was a
renl Halloween affair though it was
given .the day nfter. You know the
Mathers hne a wonderful log cabin on
their place, which they built from logi
brought down here from the Earlc
camp in the Adirondacks. The cabin is
forty feet long and has n wonderful
huge fircphu'e. Of course, logs were
burning brightly in said iirepinco for
the party, nnd the boys nnd girls had a
splendid time in their 'eerie" costumes
bobbing for applies, throwing nuts into
the blaze, and doing all the u&uul
"stunts.1'
Catherine is evy pretty, nnd when,
some years hence, she makes her bow
to ,socicty, I doubt not but that she
quickly follows in the footsteps of her
mother nnd aunts who were nil engaged
before their first season wns over. Mrs.
Mather was Catherine I'nrle, Jim know.
TUB Independence Square Auxiliary

thousand dollars at their rummage sale

I think it's fine to hear how mnny
of the women who worked so earnestly
during the war are not only willing but
leady to keep up the good work for which
there is still need.
The officers for the .cnr inin-ltliiO

ell. SHE had been all day iu town ac
companied by father, mother and
her own dentist, but still she would
not give in. Finally at 4 :!MI she was
persuaded, 'and from behind the closed
doors of the specialist dentist's room we
heard the most fearful shrieks that ever
came from human tr.rnat.
Did we not know that she could not
feel the pain, as she .had taken gas, wc
might bnve felt very badly., but we sus
pected there was a certain amount nf
"spoiled effect" about it.
Later we met her coming along the
corridor accompanied by the faithful
hpeciul doctor nnd mother. Father wns
waiting for them and he said Did it
hurt you, sweetheart?"
"No," scienmed sweetheart, who
was about ten. "It didn't, but the
me.m old thing took the only tooth I
can chew on."
