CORN PIT ACTS WELL
DESPITE BEAR NEWS
Buying on Resting Orders
Causes Movement to Cover
Shorts and Tone Holds Steady
Chicago. Oct. 23. Weakness in tho
market for hogs, favorable weather for
the movement from the country, reports
that farmers show n willingness to sell
nnd the disruption of the industrial con
ference at Washington were bearish in
fluences in the corn market today. But
despite these factors the market acted
fairly well. '
There were declines at the opening
on selling pressure from local operators,
but buying on resting orders by com
mission bouses caused a later general
movement to cover shorts, which held
the tone steady. Some observers said
the mnrket disclosed indications, on the
part of those committed on the bear
side, to force prices downward, and
during the greater part of the session
there appeared to he n disposition to
wait for further development. Some
made the point that a sharp rnlly would
occur on any favorable factor.
Leading futures ranged as follows:

Attention! Mr. Business Mm
i
OUTH AMERICAN business is knocking at your door.
Learn Spanish the shortest possible way, by the t or
tina Phono Method, which will open the door to
greater opportunities. ' Tho successful commeicial
man of today who dcsiics to develop will leadjly see the ad
vantages to he derived by a compichensivc knowledge of
foreign languages.
'revious to the gieat world war wc did not have tho
great piospcctivc foreign trade that we have at the present
time.
Foreign languages were not then an absolute necessity
as they are today.
Wo were not then united politically and commercially
with tho rest of the world ns wo now are.
Nineteen years of actual experience have enabled us to
bring this Method up to its highest stago of perfection.
Our teacher is your phonograph and the use of our
records makes its voice clear, distinct and even more pene
trating than the human voice teacher.
The entire method is perfect in every respect, so per
fect, in fact, that it is used and endorsed by such great edu
cational institutions as Columbia University, New" York
University, Lafayette College and a host of others too
numerous to mention.
You don't havo to go to Franco to learn French, or
Spain to learn Spanish. You can learn in your own home
on your own phonograph.
Tho cost of the proposition is practically a negligible
quantity in comparison to what it has to offer.
Write for Booklet or call for demonstration.
