The American work to be produced
will be "Cleopatra's Night," an opera
in two scenes, the music of which is by
Henrv Hadley and the book by Alice
Leal Pollock, after the novel of Theo
phile Gautler.
Anotner novelty will be "IOiscnl
Bleu" of Maurice Maeterlinck, the
music being by Albert Wolff, a young
French 'composer. This opera, which
will be sung in Trench, will be pre
sented first nt n special tferformnncc for
the benefit and under the auspices of
the French -Belgian and American relief
committee for the restora,tidn of Bel
gium. I.eon6avnllo's "Zaun" In Italian and
Tschnikow sky's "Eugene Onyegin," a

The United States navy Is selling 210
flying boats and seaplanes and 441 en
gines in Washington today.
The sale of the machines, of which
122 are stored In Philadelphia and
Gloucester, N. J., is being handled .by
scaled bids. Proposals must be. sub
mitted to the Bureau of Supplies and
Accounts, salvage and sales department
section, Navy Department.
Bids 'will be received on any quan
tity of seaplanes, flying boats or en
gines from one to fhe entire quantity.
The appraised altie of each flying
boat, senplnne nnd engine Is given in
the schedule of sale. Awards will be
made whc"n the bids are above the ap
praised , value. When bids arc below
the appraised value nwnrds may or may
not be made.
The class of planes stored nt the
naval aircraft factory here Include a
lot consisting of fifty-two H-18 sea
planes nnd, twentjF-5-L-. These nre
trnctor bipinnes with nn upper wln
spread of ninety-five feet and an ap
proximate speed of ninety-five miles per
hour. They are four and five place ma
chines and each will be fitted with two
new 330 horsepower engines.
