armed police, who conducted searches
while soldiers stood on guard outside.
The unoccupied Sinn Fein headquar

their attention to hotels. Clerks of
four hotels within a mile of Times
Square were robbed by armed men, all
of whom escaped in taxicabs. The
robberies totaled less than S700.
At the Hotel St. Paul the cash drawer
