The new low record for fanes was

mark. Sterling dropped to S4 14,
which, however, was '2' ' cents above
the recent low of 4.12 . Kroner and
pesatas were likewise weak. This situ
ation reflects the failure of the gov
ernment to take steps In arranging for
credits nnd ooufirmH the view that thej
reeeiu ueuerment was only a passing
phase due to speculative bujing.
Money again ruled easy. Call loans
renewed nt fl'-i per cent and rates Inter
dropped to 5 per cent. More money wag
put out on time loans at 0 ver cent.

churning of the New York market seems

cal speculative interest. This was

traction in the transactions in Elec

The demand for the stock was found

opened, indicating to some extent dis
