The crash occurred yesterday as the
Btrects alongside the yard were con
gested by persons returning from
church. Kdward Robinson, the brakc-
I man, stuck to bis post on the rear end
"of a train of twnty-two heavily loaded
freight cars, and succeeded in slowing
their progress so much that when the
Impact finally came the pedestrians wcic
not Injured.
The cars wore loaded with lumber
and heavy machinery. Itobinson was
the only brnkomnn on the train when
It began its wild trip down the steep
Incline of the yard.

The heavy train ran right on through
the empties. One of the loaded cars

by the Impact. The lumber was splin

valuable machinery was bent up like
t,o many hairpins.
Had it not been for Robinson's brav
ery, railroad men said, the' cars would
have plunged out onto the street into
the crowds passing the yard.

Tho Chester Shipbuilding Company,
Limited, which thus ceases to exist as
an operative entity, was Incorporated
in J01G to take over the shipyard of
John Roach, father and son, at Chester,
Pa., tho oldest steel shipyard in tho
United Stntca. Subsequently acquired
by its present owners, it became tho
nucleus of the Harrlman shipbuilding
.nnd shipping interests.
Since its acauisitlon bv the Harrl
man organization, the plant, which will J

tlon, has been entirely rebuilt and mod

Thirteen-year-old William Shartell,

Rev. Daniells traveled extensively in
both Europe and the United States,
predicting the impending world con
flict. He based his conclusions on
the prophecies of the Bible. His di
rect and lucid style of speech and
N pleasing personality have made him
popular. When lecturing at the
Garrick Theatre a few months ago,
two thousand people were turned
1 away unable to get seats, and, no
doubt, an immense number will hear
him this evening. Prof, and Mrs.
Hamer, of Washington, will sing.
The lecture, which is free, will be-
