With no im provement in the. industrial situntion overnight, the cotton market, after it 200-point break of yesterday, opened e.iry again, with September 5 points lower and other months 22 lo 40 points lower than last night. Selling at the outset was less gen eral and heavier than expected in view of the weak cables, but it broadened after the opening, led by Liverpool, which was a large seller on balance. Commission -house business increased ns prices gave wny, and shortly after the initial call the nctive list was 57 to (2 points under Inst night's final price. paid to crop or NEW YORK COFFEE MARKET New Yorlt, Aug. 5. The early dc dine was checked around 20.50 December nnd 20.55 for March by sup porting orders from a large Ynll street houfe believed to be nctlng for promi nent importers nnd jobbers. This de mand was mostly for the March posi tion. Shorts covered in December. It is noted that in face of declines in other mnrkets, Havre has advanced 5 to 0 frnncs during the past week. This has been expluined bj the fact that shorts were covering in September which cnrrlcd these months upward.
