district attorney and proceeded slowly

cashier appeared agitated and extremely
nervous.
He removed his straw hnt when he
entered the court room and kept the
brim of it continually at his mouth
while facing the magistrate. Itn wore n
dark serge suit and a light grav over
coat.
During the hearing Mover kept lui i
eyes continually upon the magistrate.
In the prisoner's flock lie appeared to

defendant had been aroused of criminal

Moyer would aid the examiners in
straightening matters out. it was said
Just after the hearing Miltnn Mover,
the accused man's father, appeared at
City Hall. He and the cashier's brother
had been sent for. hut through some
misunderstanding wept to the North
Penn Bank before proceeding to the
district attorney's office. The father
left a few minutes later without see
ing his son.
Depositors in the hank again crowded
the pavement in front of the building
today. Patrolmen on guard kept the
crowd moving The great majority of
the depositors who appeared today were
women
It was announced at the hauk that
subscribers to Liberty Iionds through
the bank who had made full payment
and could identify their property would
receive the bonds nex-t Tuesday.
Jt was also sap) that other suhsrrib-
y ers who had made some, but not full
payments, rould appear at the bank on
( Tuesday and that thev would then be
told at what institution pavments would
be accepted.
Moyer left his home at the corner of
Third street and Olney avenue at S 1."
o'clock this morning. He ran from the
rear of his house, lenped a hedge to
the pavement and climbed into an auto
mobile that drote off rapidlv.
He refused to answer anv questions.

shakes of his head that he had nothing
to say.

He was accompanied from hi- hone
by Mr. Montgomerv. and went directly
to City Hall, where they entered Mr.
Taulane's private ouVc to wait for Mr.

Moyer is a native of Dauphin
county, having been born in Lykens. ,
where his father and his grandfather
J. D. Moyer. were engaged for manv
years in the tannery business.
Moyer worked in one of the Lvkens
banks for a number of years after the
tannery was closed His father at that
time engaged in the real estate bu-i
ness. The familv moved about eight
years ago to llarrisburg. I'a., where
they lived for a short time, and then
came to Philadelphia.

missioner Ambler had deposited over
$400,000 of state funds in the North
Penn.
The loans mnde by Moyer against
this sum are not yet known, but they
will be made known publicly within
n day or so, it is believed.
The amounts lent on commercial
paper were within S200.000 in round
numbers of the total deposits of the
bank.
In spite of ail secrecy the name

bier persists in coming to the front in
connection with the institution's trans
actions in the way of liberal loans.
