Considering the rise which stocks
have lind and the uncertain money out
look, the market was regarded as hav
ling given a very satisfactory account of
(itself. Nothing happened today to cause
leading commission houses to change
their attitude toward the market, which
right along has been constructive.
The feature of the late trading was
an advance of moie than 18 points by
Chandler Motor to 2."Sij, a new high
price. The zinc and oil stocks were
also strong. Otherwise the market con
tinued unsettled and irregular up to
the close. Call money went as high as
12 and 15 per cent in the last half
hour.

terborough issues were sentimentally
helped by the two-cent charge for trans-

The speculative position of, local trac
tion shares is slightly enhanced by the
constructive attitude of n few public
