Myrick is chairman. This committee from tho club acts with the one representing the United States National Lawn Tennis Associa tion George T. Adce, Edwin F. Tor- rey, C. Frederick Watson, Jr. The preliminary arrangements Involve sev eral changes which arc expected to find favor with all interested. Because six championships are to be decided at this tournament it has a broad appeal. In addition to the na tional singles title the others nre the junior and boys chnmpionships in sin gles and doubles, the veterans' cham pionship and the father and son cham pionship, riayers of note from other countries nre likely to take part. An Australian team is almost sure to com pete. A change which doubtless will be ap preciated by visiting players will be an attempt to provide entertainment for them. This generally has been limited to a dinner, but with the restraint of wartime conditions removed this year it was considered desirable to provide more definite means of entertainment. Stuart Johnston and Charles S. Landers have this in charge. Harry Parker will handle the tickets, as in past seasons, and these will soon be available nt 101 Park avenue. Improved Chestnut Street Recreation Center Will Boost Tennis Chestnut Street Recreation Center will open officially July 1, after a lapse of two years' inactivity, having been taken over from tho city by the War Department ns a storehouse during that time. A special effort will bo made to fea ture tenuis, both indoor and outdoor. The outdoor courts will be enclosed by cages to avoid balls from falling into the river. It is expected that the future indoor tenuis championships will be conducted here. It has a cement floor ing and is very fast and true.
