THE LEADING SUMM1B
On Media Short Line, 12 minutes, 6 cents, from
69th Street Terminal of Market Street L.
On October 14, 1914, the first contract was let for
the development of Springfield. Since that time vast
sums have been expended in the construction of miles
of stone roads, cement sidewalks and beautiful, homes
and in planting.
Spacious building sites among the rolling hills of
Springfield were first offered for sale on May 17, 1915.
Notwithstanding the interruption of activities at Spring
field resultant from war, 100 building sites and 15 houses
were jsold for $211,905.00 prior to 1919. '
Upon the opening of the 1919 season 24 beautiful
homes were already built and were occupied by their
owners. Since the opening of this season 71 spacious
building sites have been sold for $102,510.00.
16 individual purchasers have just started or are
about to start construction of homes on the sites which
they have purchased recently. Also 14 attractive homes
are being built for sale by W. Percival Johnson. The
prices of these range from $8900.00 upward according
to size and location.
This record of accomplishment has been established
by efficient, quick and cheap transportation to the center
of the city, and by the substantial improvements and
beautiful surroundings at Springfield.
Springfield is now accommodated by Springfield and
South Springfield stations on the Media Short Line. A
third station, to be known as North Springfield, will be
built in the development forthwith.
Many attractive, improved lots which are located
near this new station, and others which are being im
proved bythe construction of Cascade Road near Spring
field station, are now ready for sale. The latter will
overlook a chain of small lakes.
Acceptable individuals who can visualize the future
of Springfield have at this time an unusual opportunity
to select and secure ideal building sites upon advan
tageous terms in an attractive community.
Now is the time to buy and build to best advantage
before the cost of building is advanced by higher freight
rates and by the increasing scarcity of lumber and labor.
The best automobile route is via Baltimore avenue through Lans
downe to Clifton Heights; there turn right on Springfield road to Spring
Field Station.
Attractive high-speed cars leave 69th Street Termlnal,2,and 32 minutei
