Steel common (uns in Rood demand again on New York Stock
Exchange, showing absence of pressure caused by dropping extra
dividends. Market generally indicated a strong position. Trading was
largo on the Curb, with prices higher. Corn advanced and cotton
declined. Foreign exchange was dull, but steady. The New York
weekly bank statement showed inci cases in average and actual loans
and decreases in lcsetves. Bank clearings throughout the country were
much above previous week and corresponding period of 1018.
