A feature of the morning trading was tin- aihnnee in Com Products

I'nited States Steel common was in urgent demand in the early trading,
when it rose, to 110, but met n supply of stock mid reacted to 'Jill's.
Another fenture of the trading was the strength shown in Midvolc
Steel, which sold at 47, almost wholly rocoyerlnj; the diUdcnd of 1 per cent
which it sold ex at the opening.

The advance was checked at these
prices by realizing, while there was
further scattered southern selling which

fiom the best with the market showing
some uncertainty or hesitation.
According to some of the local spot
people, the south is beginning to with
diaw offerings of spot cotton, but the
scattered southern selling here suggested
that supplies were still available nrouud
the present level of prices nnd the situ
ntion in tliis respect promoted the dis
position to take profits on long con

Mr. Murray announced he had been
informed by John L. Leyis, interna
tional vice president of the I'nited Mine
Workers, that Leyvis will meet Hines in
Chicago on April 10, when they will
discuss matters of importance to the
mining industry.
