Strength continued in New York stock market, and many issues
scored wide advances. Steel and Baldwin were prominent and both
were much higher. Oils led Curb business. Corn moved eriatically.
Cotton was irregular. Foreign exchange business was dull and vir
tually without feature. Loans increased and reserves decreased in the
Philadelphia Clearing House's weekly statement.
