5 points to 100. but slight recoveries occurred later In the day. although most
of the sales were recorded by midday.
I.uke Superior Corporation became active again, and. while It was lower
In leffeetlon of Hie sharp, declines for Steel common both here and New
Vork, It showed no Indication of weakness. It opened late and was off ft on
tho lullliil transaction, but In,- mldiifternooii a port of the loss had been
iccovered.
The market was fairly broad, but business In the majority of stocks was
In odd lots. Tonopah-llelmont attracted attention by advancing U to SH, but
HTonopah Mining yielded a trifle. Philadelphia Electric sallied slightly nut
Klectrlc Storage Mattery lost more than 1 point, I'ulon Traction declined Vz
and American Gas suffered n drop of GVi points to 0 on 11 small turnover.
Philadelphia Company anil Its cumulative preferred also showed weakness.
Steel common lost nearly 4 points, nnd In sympathy llaldwin lost more
than 1 and Mldvale yielded 1ft,
