High Points in Today's F'nancial News
Stock advanced early on New York exchange, duo to scant supply,
but outside interest was lacking and declines came before the close for
some issues that had made good gains. There was active trading on
the Curb. Corn dropped when liquidation wus resumed. Cotton showed
stivngth. Korcign exchange was dull. Bar silver remained unchanged.
Geneial Asphalt common closed much lower on the local exchange
after 1 caching new high record.

The issuance of additional bonds is careful'y safeguarded under the mortgage.
The physical condition of the property is excellent in every respect, it being the policy
of the management to maintain its plant at all times in first class condition.
Net Earnings of the Company show a wide margin over all interest requirements.
Saint Louis is a manufacturing and distributing city of great importance, population
having increased from 451,770 in 1890 to a present estimated population of 850.000.
The Laclede Gas Light Company does all the gas business in this city, which is the fourth
largest City in the United States.
The Company operates under a special charter which, in the opinion of counsel, is per
petual, and the validity of which has been established by the Supreme Court of the State of
Missouri.
