ship caused a sudden dropping of tho market position of nil tho Ilrook

The stock opened at 224, a decline of 4'4 points from Tuesdays
closing, but the later trudlnc rouged from 22'i to 23. Tho 7 per cent
notes sold at the new lou- record of 794.

Tho opening of the Philadelphia Stock ExchnnRe this morning was an
extremely quiet affair. Most of tho Issues put on sale were disposed of at
fractional losses or were unchanged from last sjle. '
Pennsylvania llallroad showed tho greatest nctHlty nnd gained 4 on
odd-lot trading. Lehigh Valley, on a small sale, also gained, selling at 65.
Buffalo and Susquehanna was unchanged.
A block of 100 shares of Kennecott Copper was sold nt 32, lip 1i, with
Chile Copper unchanged at 18. '
niectrlc Storage Battery was off U Philadelphia Electric, Unton'Trao
Hon nnd United Qos Improvement were unchanged. Steel dropped to 94H
The bond section was dull, with price changes that were uninteresting.
