Many Slate Bunks in Chicago Reserve
Chicago. Sept. 18. A special report
to Wj. A. Heath, chairman of the Hoard
of the Federal Ileserve Hank of Chi
cago, shows that since April 1118 State
bank, with combined resources of $338,
011,000. have been ndmltted to the sys
tem ns members of the Chicago bank
This makes a total of 222 State banks
having membership In the Seventh dis
trict and they have combined resources
of $1,188,569,000. Total membership of
the Chicago Heorve Bank. Including
national institutions Is 1269 banks.
Utility Company Passes Dividend
New York, S'cpt 18 The Republic
Railway and Light Company has passed
the quat telly dividend of 1 tfe per cent
on the pieferred stock, payahlo October

ing that the common dividend was omit
ted owing to the feeling that conditions
