For women no longer weep while men fight today the women work that a steady,never-ending stream of supplies may be kept flowing to the men in the trenches. Rig(tt noj)ly has American womanhood responded to their coun try's call, Jbut today the need for soldiers in our Industrial Army is more urgent than ever. Every day thousands of men are leaving the workshops for the battlefield, and the new draft will still further deplete the ranks of industry. , Yet the work must go on nay, production must be speeded up to a still higher notch, for our augmented armies overseas demand supplies in ever-increasing quantities. Unless production of munitions keeps pace with the growth of our military strength that strength is useless it is a giant in fetters impotent powerless. Women Alone Can Make Victory Possible America need"YOU to back 'up the boys "over there' Unless YOU step into the breach, and set a strong man free for fighting, vic tory will be delayed and thousands of lives needlessly sacrificed. Young or Old There Is a Well-Paid Job Awaiting Every Able-Bodied Woman-Married or stngi If you have never worked before you will be given a chance to learn an interesting vocation, and you will be paid while learning. If you are unable to give all your time to Government work, many plants operate four-hour shifts and will be glad to engage you on that basis. " - - You will enjoy your work, for without exception manufacturers have done everything in their power to make working conditions con genial and to promote the health and comfort of their women employes. In England the women voluntarily work twelve and more hours a day. They refuse to observe holidays "our men never stop fighting, why should we stop working?" they say. American women are not asked to do extra-hazardous work or to perform labor which is too heavy. Neither are the hours long nor the tasks distasteful. You will be given a job which your natural abilities best fit you to hold. And remember, clerical workers are as urgently needed as factory employes. The Government will help you find the job you want. The Employ ment Division of the U. S. Department of Labor has established five offices in Philadelphia exclusively for women. These offices, in charge of women who will render you every assistance possible, .are located at 1311-13 Arch Street, 135 South 16 th Street, 2429 North Front Street, 4261 Frankford Avenue and 514 South Broad Street. (The Broad Street office is for colored women exclusively.) Apply at the nearest one tomorrow. ' , Set a Man- Free for Fighting.
