New Yorli, An?. 14
The money situation was forcibly interjected Into the speculative
position of the stock market today, when a number of the law hunkers
called in loans estimated to amount In nil to $1!0, 000,000.
At the Mime time that these rails vveie sent out an uneasy feelins
had been created by newspaper aiticles III reference to the sinkinK of n
steamship off the New Jerbey coast, and the two factois had an inlluence
In causlnp unsettlement of th market and resulted In declines of fiom
1 to 2 points fiom the hlp,h rinse of the forenoon.
The 'strong tone that has been noted for several days was maintained
during 'the first half of the day, when many railroads and Industrials
made new hlsh records for this muicmcnt, with Baldwin Locomotive
lending the t-teel sioup, lieavj buying putting Its pilce up to 901,, and
other steel liul'isti ials ruse from fractions to more th'in 1 olnt.
In 'the luilvv i Ksues the speeuHtlve interest was gi latest In the
St I'aul and Union Par. lie. but the situation was abruptly changed boon
after mlddav. vvheu bank loans weie filled in.
From then until the close the maiket tone was heavj.
Nearly all inteiest In the bond market continued centeied 'n the (!nv
ernment Issues, but fluctuations in those securities were compaiatlvely
narrow and showed little change fiom previously existing levels. The
Liberty 31&S were traded In at 100 0G to 100, the 4,,s sold at 95.64 to
93.4S and the second Libert 4s at 33.80 to 03. SC.

IS THE
GREATEST
CREDIT
BUILDER.
Can your CREDITORS' interest be un
favorably affected by selling your Accounts
if you malvc more money by doing so?
Your Accounts and Acceptances simply
represent merchandise on your ledger in
stead of in your warehouse your Accept
ances represent only your open Accounts
closed. If you could sell your merchandise
for cash, you would have neither Accounts
nor Acceptances.
You can't sell your merchandise for cash,
but if we buy your customers' Accounts or
Acceptances for probably less than yon
offer them to discount, the result is the
same as if you had sold your merchandise
for . cash your financial condition is un
changed, and you can use the money from
the sale of either in the same way.
If you sold $100,000 more merchandise
than usual for cash or credit (and if on
credit, sell us the Accounts), you could
immediately discount y.ottr hills for same
with that money your creditors would have
both their profit and their money you
would have your profit and owe no more
than if you had not handled this extra
volume.
