of the three all-stai engagements Both
are rugged fellows who should supply
enough of the kind of action that the
fans like. Greb was the busiest boter
during the 1917 season, engaging In
thirty-seven battles This year he has
been less active, but has fought to make
up for his lack of work. He Is a big
middleweight, bordering on the lljht
heavies, but It Is understood he has to
Bet down to 165 for Bartfteld.
The soldier is a regular middleweight
and can make the required 168 pounds
any time he Is asked He says he fights
better around 160, and doubtless will
scale that weight when he jumps
through the ropes ton'ght. He has found
training In the "Neck" just to his liking
He thrives on open-air drilling and re
ceived plenty of that during his stay or
one week at Wlgmore's camp
The Chaney - Callahan engagement
should prove to be an Interesting one.
In their six-round session at the Olympla
a few months ago they staged a hurri
cane battle, In which body punches did
much destructive work When Callahan
found that his jab had no effect upon
the rushing Chanel he was foiced to
switch his attack to the hodv Like
wise, when Chaney learned he could not
reach Callahan's head with bis jabs he
began to force the milling and used his
left for a bombarding weapon

sas Jlr. McCarty, he will have the time
of his life and will give placid Van
couveronlans the same foi the first half
hour or so as he fox-trots up and down
the streets trying to keep out of the
way
The reason, of course, as all folks
who have been there will recognize. Is
that In Vancouver it Is good form In
traffic cop circles to drive on tho left
liund side, not the right-hand side of
the street
ilr McCarty visited Vancouver re
cently Being a good, law-abiding citi
zen of Portland, Ore. who never thinks
of disobeying the traffic laws If there Is
the slightest chsnee of a cop being
around the corner, Mr McCarty pleas
antly took the wheel of a proffered car
and started down the street
Well he started He got that far,
anyhow. In the first block he dodged
five cars all coming toward him and
set out in high dudgeon to find the
police station and complain against the
un-clubllke attitude of Vancouverltes to
ward visiting motorists.
In tho second block he encountered
seven cars, all of which he just dodged
by dint of motor acrobatics The drivers
ot all these cars peered sternly at Mr
McCarty as he wavered past them and
seemed, on the whole, to be highly and
ferociously Indignant with him
In the third block nine cars approach
ing from the left and a street car on
thr same side of the street caused Mr,
McCarty to cease his prograss In despair
He slovvtd down his car and was on the
point of leaping out and breaking for the
woods to find a- safe place when It sud-
ideply occurred to him that he had heard
someunere mat up in v-hhhum. you re
verse the known laws of locomotion as
practiced and revered In the United
States, take our popular life in your
hands and keep to the left, joung man,
keep to the left.
After that, of course Mr McCarty,
except for brief lapse of memory, kept,
to the left. By the "time he lift Van
couver he had mastered the art com
pletely and tather liked It,
