Battle of Santiago
Twenty Years Ago Today
In view of the recent achieve
ments of tho American navy In
European waters and of its success
In guarding transports, it seems
specially fitting to call attention to
tho fact that today is tho twentieth
anniversar yof one of the outstand
ing feats of American sea fighters,
the defeat of tho Spanish fleet off
Santiago.
Tho action of Admiral Sampson,
of Commodore Schley nnd the men
under them furnished a reason for
Jubilation all over tho nation on
Independence Day, 1S98. Perhaps
tho naval forces may add a per
formance today that will make to

for ship launchings in tho history
of the world, but the greatest tlay
In American naval history as well.

Nothing is lacking. 7 ";Ediphone is complete
every feature euJ part is there because
it belongs there; put there by Edison be
cause it is an indispensable of Better
Letters. And those indispensables are ex
clusive to The Ediphone.
The Automatic Correction Device, for instance;
the Collapsible Mandrel and Interchange
able Arms; The Ediphone Mail Pocket; the
Sanitube; the Transophone; the Safetae
Cylinder and Friction Grip Carton.
They are factors of efficiency and comfort and con
venience, every single one of them. They could
not be left off without lessening the value of
The Ediphone System.
They are a part of The Ediphone they are essential.
They are what Edison and his staff proved the
dictating machine must have to make a complete
system.
