E. H. Harriman and chairman of the
board of directors of the corporation,

caustic criticism, said the site was se
lected by the coiporation and approved
by the Government, that It was the only

Burning Duelling Tenant Is

Lewis Jlegrl, thirty-two. 1434 Mon- ,
trose street, was held without ball today
by Maglattate Renshaw, at the Twenti
eth and ntswater streets police station, I
on a charge of arson.
Megrt is accused of setting fire to ;
his home last night, after his wife, 1
Marlel refused to live with him. The
Megris have been married eight years,
and have three children, Lena, seven
AnitHlne. five, and Route. elcht..
months. Mrs. Megrl declares that her
hu6band refused to support her and the
children, She says that he threatened
several times during the last several
weeks to kill her.
A fire was discovered In the Megrl
home shortly after midnight. Neighbors
saw Megrl standing on the street, cor
ner. When they approached him he fled
down an alley.
He was arrested later at Thirteenth
street and 'Washington avenue. Neigh
bors broke Jnto the burning building
and rescued those occupants overcome
by smoke. Besides the Megrl family,
two other families 6hare the house. Th
damage was slight.
