WHO GETS TH
ONEY?
Mow does a war-relief organization get
money from the War Chest?
It is like a community bank account.
When an approved war-relief activity
is in need of funds it does not conduct
a "drive" or "campaign" as now: it will
apply to the War Chest.
What activities, for example, zvill be entitled
to share in the War Chest?
Such war activities as are endorsed
by the President of the United States,
the Secretary of War, the Secretary of
the Navy or are approved by the Board
of Directors of the Philadelphia and
Vicinity War Welfare Council.
Those activities will include among others:
The American Red Cross.
The Y. M. C. A. War Work Council.
The Y. W C. A. War Work Council.
The Knights of Columbus.
The Young Men's Hebrew Association.
The Commission on Training Camp
Activities of the War and Navy
Departments.
The Salvation Army.
The National Jewish War Relief.
The Boy Scouts of America, -
together with similar national and
local authorized war-relief activities.
1 Regardless of race, creed or color?
Absolutely. The only point recog
nized will be the worthiness of the ob
ject and its application to war relief.
Will not this require the most careful deci
sions as to which to give?
It certainly will. Each war activity
vwill be carefully investigated Jbef ore
any money is given from the War .Chest.
