The Curb market was unsettled at tho beginning of business b tho
disquieting news from Germaio. with sumo Issues sustaining sharp reces
sions, but In tho lato forenoon strength developed and the market showed
ii ralllii tendency until after midday, when another ictession occurred.
In somo stocks the fluctuations were exticmcly wide, Chcviolet at
tracting most attention, chopping from 111 lo 110'c and then advancing
lo 117. United Motors also was hcay In tho caily trading, declining to
25 Vg, but later rallied to abovo .'G.
SSubniaiinc sold down lo llr, from which it rallied to ll'i.
Airplane stocks weio hcay, Curtlss silling ut 2 and Wilght-Martln
at 7 and C7. Aetna explosives was quiet, selling at and SVi.
Tho oil stocks were generally heavy, as they hao been lor somo tlmo
past, with Midwest Hetlnlng falling Ij points lo 7. Sinclair Oult was
traded in at 17 to IC, Cosden sold at 7 to O's and Mcnitt at 173i to 17'.
