Most Interest was attached to the persistent accumulation of Heinle
hem Steel "H," which rose VA to 79, and was followed on this upturn by
Crucible Steel and Haldwlti Locomotive.
Hemline was also In Rood demand, but without any effort on the part
of banking Interest to resist bear attucks, and advanced " to $37,.
The dividend notion on Heading should be taken In n few days, per
haps tomorrow, and the Street has an Idea that some announcement may
be made at thnt lime. The stock bought through the past Is under
stood lo have been for the First National t.nak.

The pressure against the stock was accompanied by lefeiences lo
delay In the output on Government contracts which In some quarter

United States Steel was the" only Issue
to show any marked activity. It mado
a drop to 00 about noon, but Inter hi
tho session jumped lo 00s., up a half.
Heading developed strength nnd made
a spurt to 834. then settled back to
8.1 "4, a gain for tho day of 't.
Halls generally were mixed. Lehigh
Valley was off an eighth nnd Pcnnsl
vanla a similar fraction nt 41-li. Lehigh
Navigation gained a quarter. Pitts
burgh and Western remained unchnnged
on a sale of n hundred shares.
Philadelphia, Hapld Transit trust cer
tificates lost nn eighth, while Phila
delphia Traction was off 2 points, nt 60.
Union Traction was unchanged at 40.
The bond section was uninteresting.
The Liberty 3s were on ln.lfjO. Tho
