in Boston

KCAUSD Bill Brennan, ot Chicago,
refused to boc unless a draw de
cision was declared In his bout with
Battling I.evlnsky tonight, the contest
ended a draw, with both men on t,helr
feet at the end of twelve rounds. It was
an Incident that Boston never bawr be
fore and may lead to both boxers and
their managers being barred from this
city.
There was very little fighting and the
prevalent opinion was that It was a fake
all the way. The crowd threw lemons,
apples and everything else that was
handy at the boxers, who wrestled ahd
stalled through one of the worst exhibi
tions yet perpetrated here. Some time
ago Brennan got a draw decision with
Levlnsky here, but Levlnsky won by a
big margin. A New York referee was
Imported then by Brennan's manager.
The trouble started early In the eve
ning when Brennan telephoned Presi
dent Mian Murray, of the Armory A. A.
He insinuated that his manager was not
on the level and that he would not enter
the boxing club unless he received 500.
Murray refused, and Brennan announced
that ha-would take the next train out

Brooks and Levering were the only ones
